Introduction to biocybernetics

We discuss the basic features of biological regulation and the application of engineering principles to biological problems.

This course is offered to students of the University of Vienna, as part of the CO-BIO2 "Computational Concepts in Biology" lectures organised by Prof. T. Rattei.

  1. Introduction to the theory of evolution (artificial and natural selection).
  2. "Artificial life" simulation systems.

Prerequisites

High-school mathematics and biology.

Practical information

Number of participants: Variable. These lectures are public, no registration is necessary.
